What does the APPSS do?
The Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS) is a subsidiary of the larger Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA). It is a not-for-profit trade association with over 300 members all of which are UK companies who manufacture equipment and supply services, including training and consultancy, to public security agencies worldwide.
APPSS provides a wide range of information, contacts market leads, market leads, services and activities to assist its member companies in:
- Promoting and marketing their products and services in the UK and worldwide.
- Bringing business opportunities to their attention, and creating a forum for sharing market information.
- Coordinating, liaising with and representing the industry to government agencies.
APPSS works closely with the British Home Office, the UK Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and many other government departments with a concern for these activities within the public security market, including:
- HOSDB
- FCO
- UKT&I
The Association’s income is derived from the fee-paying membership of over 300 British companies, and from organising exhibitions, UK pavilions, briefings, seminars, and table-top Public Security Equipment exhibitions (PSEs) at home and abroad for the promotion of trade and counter-trade.
