Welcome to the APPSS London 2012 Olympic interest Group (LOG) information pages
Welcome to the area of the NEW! APPSS website that is dedicated to the London 2012 Olympics. This is designed to help members understand the organisation behind London 2012 and provide information which to help the Police & Public Security Industry to make the most of business opportunities that will arise from the staging of the Games.
The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games is the world’s largest event and its magnitude in infrastructure development and business opportunity is unparalleled. The UK is committed to making London 2012 the greatest and most impressive Games ever with a legacy that will have a long-lasting benefit to the nation. Security will be foremost in ensuring that the event is a success as the threat to Games will be significant.
Planning to secure the Games is of paramount importance and this is being driven by the Security Directorate, LOCOG, ODA, the Metropolitan Police Service and the Home Office. Anyone who can provide equipment, consultancy or training to these authorities is also of great importance in creating a success of the Games.
The 2012 progress is ever changing and as such we are endeavouring to keep this site continually updated with the latest information. Please feel free to contact us if you have any information, that is not displayed here that you would like to share with the wider industry.
